The School of Literature one of the eight Schools established by the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, is situated in Rajahamandry (Bommuru), which is 450 km away from Hyderabad and well connected by Rail and Roadways. This School conducts  Research and Training in Telugu Literature. The Focus of Teaching is on Classical Literature, modern literature and desi  and Devotional literature.

The  focus of  Research is on ancient and modern Telugu Literature. This Research is in varied genres in Telugu Literature with perspective of developing a comprehensive literary history of Telugu.

The School of Telugu Literature has only one Department: Department of Telugu Literary Studies.
